Community Impact Assessments and Community Solutions Plans

The Septic Tank Remediation Program (STRP) was established in 2021 with funding from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund through the Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Division The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) supports implementation. The program aims to reduce nonpoint source pollution caused by failing septic systems throughout the upper (Arkansas) portion of the watershed. During its implementation, neighborhoods with inadequate wastewater infrastructure were identified as particularly vulnerable. Below are assessments created to support expanded access to sanitary wastewater and reduce impacts of effluent on the Illinois River Watershed.
